Hydro’s business area Energy is responsible for safe and efficient operations of Hydro’s power plants in Norway. Strong value creation from our power production and sourcing competitive energy to Hydro’s smelters are key drivers for Hydro’s future growth.
Energy Risk Management is a part of the Finance department in Energy, and the unit is responsible for developing the commercial risk framework in Energy and for monitoring compliance with the policy. The main focus areas are Energy’s trading activity, power portfolio risk and credit risk. The department also contributes to other departments and projects in Energy. We are currently in process of implemetniting a new tool which requires thorough knowledge of programming and big-data handling. The work requires a solid statistical background as well as experience in statistical modelling.

Area of Responsibility
The candidate will be part of the departments extraordinary work related to implementation and fulfillment of a new key tool. We therefore look for a candidate with competenices within the following fields:
- Database knowledge (technical)
- Power BI
- Microsoft SQL
- MS Azure Analytics
- Process automation
- Minimum three years of completed studies in Applied Mathematics, programming, economics/finance, industrial economics. Lack of formal competenices in some areas listed can be replaced by high interest/self studies.
- Good academic results
- Experience in statistical modelling
- Good communication and cooperation skills
- Engagement through student activities is an advantage
- High interest/passion for quantitative work
